Failure can be…
Failure 𝙘𝙖𝙣 be feedback…
Feedback 𝙘𝙖𝙣 be fuel…
Fuel 𝙘𝙖𝙣 be fire
In every career, we face setbacks.
Maybe it’s a project that didn’t land as expected or a big pitch that fell short.
But these failures can give us fuel, sparking the fire that propels us forward — if we’re open to learning from each one.
These are my 3️⃣ tidbits…
1. Failure can be Feedback
Failures aren’t final and forever and can reveal something: areas to strengthen, a skill to develop or a blind spot we didn’t see. Instead of viewing failure as a forever stop sign, take the time to reflect back on the failure. It might be painful, like stepping on a piece of Lego, but it’s temporary pain!
2. Feedback can be Fuel
Constructive feedback or criticism can be uncomfortable, but it can be fuel for us. It can ignite us with the perspective to make adjustments and try new approaches, using each insight as energy to move forward.
I use 𝙘𝙖𝙣, because it is up to you to make the choice.
3. Fuel can be Fire
With each lesson learned, we’re gathering fuel. And when that fuel aligns with our values and purpose, it ignites a fire within us — a fire that pushes us past those failures and moves us closer to our goals.
Thought Provoking Quotes on this week’s topic
Sarah Blakely
I believe that defeat is life’s way of nudging you and letting you know you’re off course. There’s always some sort of hidden opportunity or lesson in each episode - a chance to build your character. Spanx wouldn’t exist if I had aced the LSAT.
Barack Obama
You can’t let your failures define you.
You have to let your failures teach you.
